Welcome to London
Set yourself up for an action-packed day, with a delicious English breakfast served in our
restaurant or brought to your room by your own personal butler. Then take a stroll through
St James’s Park, looking out for the ducks and squirrels and enjoying this oasis of peace in the
heart of the city. Continue your walk towards the Thames, admiring London’s iconic
architecture, as you find your way to Embankment Pier. From here, board a river boat that
will take you to the Tower of London.
The Jewel of the Crown
The best way to learn about the rich lineage of the British Monarchy is with a private tour of
the Tower. You’ll be joined by a Yeoman Warder – or Beefeater, as they’re known – who will
guide you through the awe-inspiring symbols of monarchy, culminating in a glimpse of the
Crown Jewels and the 530.2-carat Cullinan I diamond. Explore the White Tower, where Guy
Fawkes is believed to have been interrogated, and learn more about this formidable royal
Lunchtime and afternoon
Lunch at The Ivy
Since admiring Tower Bridge never tires, take a table on the large terrace at The Ivy Tower
Bridge. Choose from classic comfort food such as The Ivy hamburger and shepherd’s pie, or
healthy options such as pan-fried sea bass fillet. The interior is decorated in colourful hues of
orange and teal blue, created by the renowned Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. After lunch,
experience a natural high at The Shard. Take the lift up to the top – 72 floors up – to enjoy
the spectacular panoramic views over London from the open-air terrace.
Time to relax
Then, head back to the hotel to unwind with a special spa treatment. Treat yourself to the capital’s most
luxurious HydraFacial, a treatment designed exclusively for The Lanesborough Club & Spa, incorporating LED light therapy, electro muscular stimulation technology and a 24-carat gold mask.
The Lanesborough Grill
It’s time for dinner at The Lanesborough Grill. Discover our modern British menu
championing regional artisans and the very best seasonal produce from around the country,
and enjoy live musical performances on Friday and Saturday nights. Dishes change
frequently, with some served tableside on gueridon trolleys, creating a sense of restaurant
theatre. Signature dishes include coronation crab salad, beef wellington and Dover sole.
The Library Bar
End your evening at the Library Bar, where you’ll catch our soulful singers and pianists on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Choose one of our tempting concoctions, such as the
Lilibet, with Earl Grey infused gin. If you’re lucky, the house cat, also called Lilibet,
might make an appearance.
