The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Portrait

Internationally renowned portrait artist Basia Hamilton had the honour of painting a portrait of Her Majesty The Queen at Windsor Castle in May 2022, the only private portrait sitting in the lead up to the Platinum Jubilee. We are delighted to display one of the 1,000 limited edition prints in our lobby in celebration of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.

The limited edition prints are available in three sizes: A1, A2 and A3. For each size a limited number of 1,000 were produced, all of which are hand-signed by the artist, numbered and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity. Each print is produced to the highest quality, gallery/museum-standard, using a specialist art printing company.

Prices are subject to VAT, international taxes and shipping.

A portion of the proceeds is being donated to The Portrait Foundation which was founded by the artist, with HRH The Duke of Kent as Patron.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Barbara Kaczmarowska-Hamilton, known as Basia Hamilton, was born in Sopot, Poland. She graduated from the Academy of Art in Gdansk and continued her studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and Rome. Specialising in portraits in oil and pastels, Hamilton rose to international fame thanks to her great skill in the art of portraiture. Her sitters include His Holiness Pope John Paul II, HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, HRH The Princess Royal, HRH The Duke of Kent, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, HRH The Maharaja of Jodhpur and many others who all together constitute “The Hall of Fame” in her gallery. On Friday, 6th May 2022, Hamilton attended Windsor Castle where The Queen sat for an exclusive private portrait sitting. The portrait was completed in June 2022 in time for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

In honour of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, our team at The Library Bar has crafted The Lilibet. Earl Grey infused gin is shaken with bergamot & white cacao liqueur, balanced with fresh lemon juice and finished with English Chardonnay wine foam flavoured with chocolate, garnished with a flourish of edible micro-flowers.
