Tangará Jean-Georges is awarded a Michelin star
Just one year after its opening, the restaurant located inside Palácio Tangará achieves its first great gastronomic recognition within the most-respected publication in the world.
Oetker Collection’s first masterpiece hotel in South America, Palácio Tangará, has the honour to announce that its restaurant Tangará Jean-Georges was awarded one star by the Michelin Guide, the world’s leading gastronomic publication.
Under the command of the internationally renowned chef and restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the Tangará Jean-Georges brings in its menu specialities inspired by the richness of the Asian cuisine, a strong influence on the creations of Jean-Georges, as well as fusion with Brazilian cuisine and its fresh tropical ingredients. Among the highlights of the recipes performed by chef Felipe Rodrigues, who has acquired vast experience in contemporary gastronomy around the world, are the crunchy salmon sushi, the spiced sea bass and the rack of lamb.

Opened in May 2017, the Tangará Jean-Georges offers a unique experience in its settings, bathed in natural light and overlooking the tropical vegetation of Burle Marx Park. At nighttime, its environment becomes more discreet and romantic.
For more than 90 years the Michelin Guide has been recognised as a reference in world gastronomy, having awarded the first restaurant in 1926. Composed by an anonymous team, each guide applies rigorous evaluation methods used by Michelin for decades, in which five criteria are evaluated. They are: product quality, preparation, flavour, chef’s personality revealed in his (or her) creations, values and menu consistency.
To celebrate this award, we have created a Gastronomic experience that includes the Michelin-starred Signature 6-courses menu, breakfast and a drink to celebrate this achievement.
