Group CSR actions include: • As a common standard all hotels are monitoring their resource consumption including electricity, water and gas through the data management system Con-Serve™. The Group strives to reduce their resource consumption. • Additionally all hotels have adopted the ‘Giving Bag’ scheme, which allows guests to donate any clothes or accessories they no longer wish to take home to those in need through the Red Cross. Guests are also given the possibility to help disadvantaged countries by donating their partially used bath products to the ‘Clean the World’ foundation. Both donations only need to be dropped into a ‘Giving Bag’ which have been placed in every Hotel room wardrobe. The Oetker Collection works with Considerate Hoteliers to ensure all commitments are implemented, strategies are adhered to and progress is tracked.
Eden Rock - St Barths
Eden Rock - St Barths has introduced 9 electric cars and 1 new electric bike for guests and staff to use as a quick way of getting around the resort and town without negatively impacting air quality. From April until end of May 2017 Eden Rock - St Barths’ employees collected clothes to donate to charity including old staff uniforms. The Lions Club - St. Barths , charity association located in the Caribbean, distributed the donations. For this action, 200kg of clothes were sent to la Dominique Island. More than 50% of women work at Eden Rock - S. Barths! To improve staff well being, the Hotel has hired a dedicated chef to cook at the staff restaurant and organises monthly free wellness activities for all staff, such as hikes, yoga and water sports.
