In order to achieve these commitments we have created the following papers: • As a common standards all hotels are monitoring their resource consumption of electricity, water and gas through the data monitoring platform Con-Serve™ and have set goals of achieving an overall reduction of 10% by 2018. • Additionally all hotels have adopted the ‘Giving Bag’ scheme, which allows guests to donate any clothes or accessories they no longer wish to take home to those in need through the Red Cross. Guests are also given the possibility to help disadvantaged countries by donating their partially used bath products to the ‘Clean the World’ foundation. Both donations only need to be dropped into a ‘Giving Bag’ which have been placed in every Hotel room wardrobe. The Oetker Collection works with Considerate Hoteliers to ensure all commitments are implemented, strategies are adhered to and progress is tracked.
Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa
The Hotel is patron of 10 heirloom fruit trees on an old endangered typical German landscape. The hotel is immersed in the middle of the Black Forest and is committed to protect its surrounding by enhancing endangered tree species like the heirloom. Brenners Park Hotel’s staff participated in the yearly Christmas package convoy where they collected over 125 parcels and gifts for orphans in Eastern Europe. Have introduced an electric car for guest to use as a quick way of getting around town without negatively impacting air quality. The hotel buys organic eggs, meat from organic farms and trout from the local region and produces honey from their own bees.
