Black Forest Round Trip

The famous high road from Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt is the oldest and best-known tourist route in the Black Forest. It offers wonderful views of the Black Forest and of the Rhine Valley stretching as far as the Vosges Mountains. Savour the drive through the Murg Valley with its unique views and diverse hiking opportunities.

When in Freudenstadt, we recommend visiting one of the cafés or restaurants to sample the excellent wines, a hearty snack or a slice of Black Forest gateau, which are the culinary hallmarks of the gourmet region of Freudenstadt.

The tour will continue to the monastery church in Alpirsbach. Explore the interior of this 900-year-old building and walk around the monastery grounds and the historic relics. This historic tour can then be resumed in the village of Haslach where the medieval market streets, squares and alleyways are all under preservation orders and are part of the German Half-Timbered House Road (Deutsche Fachwerkstraße).

On the way back to Brenners the route will pass Biberach, Bad Peterstal-Griesbach and the Mummelsee Lake, rounding off your historic tour perfectly.
